East Coast Kiteboarding Discussion
I'm going to post this in all regions on this forum but maybe the Mods can make it into a sticky? I was surprised that this wasn't here yet. Even our Canadian voices can make a difference - please sign and comment the petition (comments are apparently weighted more than just signing).

Sorry if this IS indeed on here somewhere already - I feel this is very important for kiters all over the world in all disciplines.
Hey there...new in town, looking to meet like minded folks and get some sessions in before it gets unpleasant. Kind new to the sport, I'm taken several lessons and am just trying to maintain on plane. Anybody out there with any tips on where to go or needs a companion while on there way...lemme know.

After 3 years “The Lüderitz Speed Challenge” has earned its credibility and made its mark in the World of Speed Sailing.
In October 2010, for the first time, all 3 disciplines that are the driving force behind this crazy battle to push the limits further year after year, namely THE HYDROPTE︠︠RE BOAT, WINDSURFING and KITESURFING will race TOGETHER during the same event to set new World Records.
This year promises to be the most competitive and exciting event in the history of Speed Sailing.
Has anyone kiteboarded at Bothwell beach PEI near Soris? From google maps it looks great. What is the shore break like? What is the best time of year for this location? Is there camping near by?
The wife and I are thinking about heading North, probably to Nova Scotia and maybe to PEI. We've never been to NS before so any advice / info would be appreciated. Probably won't head up until September though, how cold is it then? If time allows, we might also head to PEI and if so hope to stay somewhere near Malpeque as we had a great time with you folks a couple years back.
Aloha from the Outer Banks.
Lightwinds ar now more fun!
Might check out Tracadie harbour tomorrow afternoon as long as the rain holds off. Calling for NW and a low tide in the afternoon.
I'm looking for a ride to any local kiteboarding spot. ive just moved to the city (Halifax) and sold my car. would pay for half the fuel and i'll even through in a twinkie bar

The Canadian Ministry of Transport is looking to make it mandatory for kiteboarders to wear PFDs in Canada. We propose that PDFs should be a choice by the kiteboarder and not mandated.
It is the opinion of many kiteboarders that PFDs increase the risk to kiteboarders because they:
1. make body dragging to your board difficult
2. can interfere with the use of quick release safety
3. can result in more line entanglement
reduce mobility, so can limit a kiteboarders ability to depower kite and board
